Volunteer Program at the Queer Resource Center!
Come be a part of the QRC community!
Whether you identify as LGBTQI or you believe in supporting the community, all students are welcome to come and be a part of the QRC community. How you decide to volunteer with us is up to you. We have several projects underway as well as different volunteer positions.
Opportunities Available as a Volunteer :
Desk Position:
This position requires that students sign up for a three-hour/pre week shift. This is a commitment that lasts the duration of the term. Students will be responsible for staffing the front desk and various clerical duties.
Events:
For students interested in helping out, but cannot commit to three hours a week, this position is for you! Throughout each term the QRC puts on several events (see our News and Events” page). Event volunteers will assist in setup and takedown, staffing information tables, helping with publicity, and ensuring that events run smoothly.
Special Projects:
Students interested in developing a special project will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator. In the past, we have had students help deign flyers, propose and coordinate an event, or lead a workshop based on their own talents and interests.
Are You Interested in Volunteering?
If you are interested in volunteering, please call the QRC front desk (503.725.9742) and ask to schedule a half-hour appointment with our Volunteer Coordinator Lupita Mendez.
